The benefits of music

Effects of Music Mentally

Music provides many benefits to mental health such as stimulation, stress relief, and enhanced learning. Music does this by activating the auditory cortex of the brain as well as emotional parts of the brain. Those same emotional parts are synchronized. It also activates the motor system without the body moving. Having the entire brain activated strengthens learning because more brain activity strengthens it. By listening to music constantly the brain's neurons are constantly firing, leading to them being stronger. Music also provides stress relief, clearing the brain and allowing someone to focus on any studying topic much better than usual.

Social Benefits of Music

Studies show that music has been used to communicate ideas and concepts for 1000s of years. It is used to unify people and cultures for a common cause or belief. For this reason, music helps us to socialize with others and understand different perspectives of the world. People can socialize with music by sharing what genres they like and why they like them to their friends. This allows for deep and philosophical conversation, opening someone's perspective. Music within itself is also a way to share what you feel to a large amount of people. Most successful albums have a personal level to the artist.
